Why is a domain name the brand itself?
The name repeated on business cards, ads, and emails is the voice of the brand. Long names with hyphens and numbers are spelled out on the phone and misspelled. If possible, a short root and familiar extension are chosen. If unavailable, a meaningful second choice is better than random syllables.
.com.tr provides corporate trust; .com is universal. Holding both is defensive: don't let a competitor register your name with another extension. This decision is made on registration day, not two years later.
Specify from the start whether the owner is an individual or a company. Registering to an employee's personal email leaves the domain hostage when they leave. Webify asks who will be on record.
Transfer and nameserver
Transfer requires an auth code and registrar rules. When the nameserver changes, all A and MX records move to the new place. If old records aren't copied, the transition cuts email. Plan: copy, switch, verify.
On launch day, DNS propagates with delay. "It changed immediately" is not expected; TTL and user cache are explained. Changing both registrar and hosting on the same day doubles the risk.
A parked domain should not be confused with an active site. Redirection (www / apex) is locked together with SSL. Otherwise, the browser issues a warning.
Email and renewal
Corporate email is opened on the same domain. info@ appears more trustworthy than random Gmail and is less likely to fall into spam filters. If the MX record is wrong, neither the site nor the email counts as up.
If renewal is forgotten, the domain goes to auction. The calendar and auto-renewal are in the delivery file. For critical brand names, we remind you before expiration.
WHOIS privacy varies by extension. .com.tr has different rules. "Hide everything" is not possible on every extension; the right expectation is set.
Price and responsibility
Registration fees vary by extension. Traps where the first year is cheap but renewal is expensive are explained. Transfer sometimes adds an extra year.
The domain is your property. It should not be forgotten in an agency account. On exit, the transfer code and panel access are delivered.
Site and domain can be billed separately. If you want a single point of contact, hosting and SSL are bundled in the same quote.
Extension selection and brand defense
.com.tr carries corporate trust in Turkey; .com is universal; .net and .io give a tech perception. Not all are needed. The main brand root + the two most commonly typed extensions are enough for most SMEs. Dozens of meaningless extensions inflate the renewal bill without providing defense.

DNS records: A, MX, TXT together
The A record points to the site, MX to email, TXT (SPF/DKIM) to sender reputation. Copying one and forgetting the other is the most common cause of outages. During transfer or nameserver change, a full record dump is taken from the old panel, pasted into the new place, then switched.
If TTL is high, changes are invisible for hours. Changing both registrar and hosting on launch day doubles the risk. If www and apex (naked domain) aren't tied to a single canonical with SSL, one will lock and the other will warn.
CDN, subdomain (blog, panel), and verification records (Search Console, payment) all reside in the same DNS. "What if we delete a line" isn't for testing on a live site. Making critical changes together is safer.
Renewal, transfer lock, and exit
An expired domain first goes into a renewal window, then may go to auction. Even if auto-renewal is linked to your card, the calendar is in the delivery file. For critical brand names, we remind you near expiration; the guarantee is not "miracle recovery at every registrar."
Transfer lock and auth code are your property. A domain forgotten in an agency account becomes a bargaining chip on exit. Webify writes in the quote whose panel it's in and how it will be moved.
